I absolutely love Every Summer After by Carley Fortune. Percy and Sam’s love story is both heartbreaking and deeply romantic, capturing the bittersweet nature of young love and second chances. Their relationship unfolds over the course of six summers at the lake, creating a nostalgic and emotional backdrop for their bond. From childhood friends to soulmates, their journey is filled with passion, mistakes, and growth.
The book does an excellent job exploring themes of forgiveness, redemption, and the enduring power of love. While Percy’s betrayal feels unforgivable at first, I love how Sam finds it in his heart to forgive her in the end. It shows that true love isn’t perfect but is strong enough to withstand flaws and hardships. Their reconciliation felt hard-earned and deeply satisfying, making their happy ending all the more meaningful.
Fortune’s writing beautifully captures the raw emotions of love and loss, making me reflect on how powerful love can be. It reminds me that love has the ability to overwrite fear, heal wounds, and inspire growth. The book left me feeling hopeful and emotionally connected to the characters.
I was completely swept away by Every Summer After and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys emotional, character-driven romance novels. I can’t wait to read more books from Carley Fortune!
